The volunteer campaign starts this weekend at the Greenhouse Ministries

Greenhouse Ministries will host a volunteer drive and community outreach event on Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to noon at 309 South Spring Street in Murfreesboro.

Anyone interested in opportunities to serve the community is encouraged to attend the event this weekend.

“We would love to see people new to Greenhouse Ministries join this volunteer campaign and hopefully learn more about what we do,” said Executive Director Christy Sanford.

Phillip Street with Greenhouse Ministries talks about the new Greenhouse Ministries building on Friday, November 12, 2021, as construction wraps up for the grand opening.

“We are always looking for ways to serve the community and our goal is to help others find new ways to serve, whether through our programs or our community partners.

Greenhouse Ministries has four main service areas: education, counseling, basic needs and general services. Within these areas, Greenhouse Ministries offers a wide range of programs, including anger management, coping skills counseling, sewing classes, cooking classes, computer programs, Bible studies, pantry help and more.

As co-founders Cliff and Jane Sharp have often said, “If it can help people, we can do it!”

The volunteer campaign is organized with the help of members of Leadership Rutherford, a personal development program that helps future leaders prepare for volunteer responsibility and learn about key issues and opportunities facing Rutherford County.

“Each year, Leadership Rutherford participants are challenged to complete a community impact project,” said Stephanie Brackman, Director of Leadership Rutherford.

“We are very proud of our team members and we hope this project can help the public learn more about Greenhouse Ministries and therefore make our community a better place. »
